About LBBC Events

One of the key benefits of LBBC membership is the opportunity to participate in our programme of events which provide delegates with unique access to Libya’s industrial and political elite and unrivalled networking opportunities among the individuals, companies and organisations that drive business developments in Libya.

Organised to meet a range of needs and in a variety of formats, LBBC events take place in both the UK and Libya and are often hosted in partnership with other organisations (such as industry associations) and with the support of British and Libyan government agencies and departments, such as the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) and the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA).

Participation is also one of the most effective ways for members to learn about a specific industry sector or to promote their own products, services and interests to fellow members (and potential business partners) as well as to the Libyan-based decision-makers who may be their future customers, clients and investors.

LBBC events include conferences, workshops, strategic forums, special one-off meetings and high-level trade delegations, not to mention our annual social function at the House of Lords. Our multi-sector and market-specific delegations to Libya always benefit from exclusive briefings by British embassy staff with expertise in relevant areas such as changes in the tax regime for foreign business entities or the regulations governing employee recruitment.

Informal social functions at the Embassy are also a regular feature of these missions, where delegates can network with Libyan officials and decision-makers, as well as with the local agents and suppliers who may provide crucial information about the market or markets under scrutiny.

For our domestic conferences we can rely on the support of the DIT, the government department responsible for promoting British business development overseas, which provides additional resources, intelligence and contacts to ensure LBBC event participants receive the guidance they need to succeed.
